Les Grey dies
mini me + poo
The lead singer with Mud, he had a string of hits in the 70s. Unfortunately it looks like no paper that did an obit (eg The Independent) has it on the web.

By the early 80s, he was part of "Les Grey's Mud" - presumably the other original band members were retired or calling themselves something else - who were the first band I ever did lighting for at university and also, three years later, the last.

I was a lot better the second time :)

Thanks. Odd that it doesn't show up when you search their site!

Hi Ian

I was sad too when I heard of Les Greys' death. I was no great fan of the music, but Mud was part of the early 70's environment. Mourning the passing of those times...

Some of their singles were fab, and he was great both times.

I just missed Kraftwerk at the RFH too, but I'm going to one of the two shows at Brixton that weekend. There will doubtless be people selling tickets.

Oh, and I've recently been hunting down tracks from the Be Bop Deluxe album I liked...
