Mark Cavendish has announced that he's leaving Sky and joining Omega Pharma-Quick Step.

We should see him win a few more stages in the big tours, but it's still a bit of a surprise to me. Perhaps one year of being on a team with a serious GC contender was enough, and he rejoining plenty of his former HTC Highroad team...

To be fair, I really don't blame him. He is capable of winning many stages on all of the big tours. But he would be the first to admit that he really needs a good team behind him for that to happen. It wouldn't be good for Wiggo to give up GC hopes for Cav and it isn't good for Cav to give up stage wins for Wiggo.

True. In his place I'd also like to be away from the discussion about whether it will be Wiggins or Froome that Sky have as their leading contender for the 100th Tour.
